WORKS MINISTRY ACHIEVES 35% PROGRESS IN THE REVAMP OF ABDUL RAHMAN AL DAKHIL AVENUE IN MANAMA

HE the Minister of Works, Municipalities & Urban Planning Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf revealed that the Ministry has achieved 35% progress in the revamp of Abdul Rahman Al Dakhil Avenue in Block 321 in Manama; extending from Palace Avenue to Exhibition Road.
In his tour, the Minister was accompanied by Roads Assistant Undersecretary Eng. Huda Fakhro, Roads Projects & Maintenance Director Eng. Raed Al Salah and a number of engineers from the Ministry.
According to the Minister, the project is part of the Ministry’s program to rehabilitate and revamp old and deteriorated roads across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The BD288,034,000 project was awarded to JAHCON Engineering Services. Works are expected to take 28 weeks to complete, including revamping approximately 1970m long roads.
The project comprises of re-constructing and revamping Abdul Rahman Al Dakhil Avenue, re-constructing the infrastructure by removing the old paving layers, levelling works, asphalting and paving works, implementing a storm water drainage network, constructing parking spaces on the sides of the road, implementing speed humps, in addition to installing light poles in cooperation with the Electricity & Water Authority, implementing ground channels for present and future use and providing traffic safety requirements.

The Ministry urges all road users to adhere to warning signs and instructions during the implementation of the project.
