WORKS MINISTRY EARNS THE
ISO INTERNATIONAL CREDENCE CERTIFICATE

Undersecretary at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban
Planning Eng. Ahmed Al Khayyat stated that the Ministry’s Materials Engineering
Directorate’s labs and the labs belonging to the Sanitary Engineering Operation
& Maintenance Directorate have been granted the ISO International Credence
Certificate 17025:2005 by the American IAS, following a number of intricate
procedures that included technical assessment to works and processes performed
at the labs.
Al Khayyat explained
that the Ministry is committed to quality concept from a strategic perspective;
as part of its plan to improve performance and ensure that labs adhere to
international quality systems requirements. He also stressed that the ISO
International Credence Certificate reflects the Ministry’s efficiency and
capability to satisfy customers, increase productivity and minimize faults and
resources wastage.
Materials Engineering
Director Eng. Sameer Affouni stated that the Ministry signed a contract with
Info Vision Consultancies, who has established a system targeting quality at
the Ministry’s labs based on the ISO 17025:2005 requirements. Also, the
Ministry’s labs previously underwent a complete upgrade to its systems,
regulations and all administrative processes; in line with the standard
requirements for the ISO 17025.
