AL KHAYYAT: ‘6 TENDERS AWARDED AND BIDS INVITED FOR 11 OTHER TENDERS DURING APRIL 2015’

Works, Municipality Affairs & Urban Planning Assistant Service U.S  Eng. Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Khayyat revealed that the Ministry awarded 6 tenders worth BD2,893,470 and invited bids for 11 roads, sanitary and construction tenders worth BD4,020,108 during April 2015.

According to Al Khayyat, the awarded tenders covered the roads, sanitary and construction sectors. In the roads sector, the awarded tenders covered the BD1,082,602 Time Contract Project for the import and installation of safety fence for the years 2014-2016, and the BD518,445 revamp of Block 351, Road 5121 and the environs in Burhama.  In the sanitary sector, the awarded tenders included the BD470,000 operation of the sewage treatment network, while the construction sector covered the BD660,000 maintenance of building No.6 and construction of a guard room and the outside fence for Sh. Rashid Equestrian Club, and the BD104,750 import and installation of lighting, sensory mixers and solar energy control cell for the Central Informatics Organization in Isa Town.

As for the 11 tenders for which bids were invited, the roads sector included the revamp of Hamala Block 1014, Road 1429, while the sanitary sector included the implementation of a main sewerage drainage line West of Budaiya (phase 2), as part of the housing projects sewerage works. The construction sector included the maintenance and painting works for Al Jabriya Industrial School for Boys in Manama, the maintenance and painting works for Saar Secondary Girls School, the maintenance and painting works for Sh. Abdul Aziz bin Mohammed Secondary Boys School in Adliya and the supervision of construction, mechanical and electrical works and painting works in Sh. Rashid Equestrian and Horse Race Club in Sakhir.


Al Khayyat also revealed that the Ministry’s Cost Engineering Directorate, represented by the Purchase Department, approved 157 purchase requests during April 2015 worth BD476,322. The technical services sector approved 2 new request as part of the contractors pre-qualification requests and 9 contractors and suppliers renewal requests.
