AL KHAYYAT: ‘6 TENDERS AWARDED AND BIDS INVITED
FOR 9 OTHER TENDERS DURING FEBRUARY 2015’

Undersecretary for Technical Services Eng. Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Khayyat revealed
that the Ministry awarded 6 tenders for both the sanitary and construction
sectors worth BD1,419,386, and invited bids for 9 roads, sanitary and
construction tenders worth BD3,287,952 during February 2015.
According to Al Khayyat, the awarded tenders
covered the sanitary and construction sectors. In the sanitary sector, the
awarded tenders covered the BD600,000 Time Contract Project for the urgent
works to upgrade sub-stations, and the
BD266,950 3C Storm Water Drainage Network Project at the Northern and Southern
Governorates. The awarded tenders in the construction sector amounted to 4
projects, the most important of which was Phase 2 of the lighting and
forestation of Isa Sports City Parking Lot at a cost of BD393,100.
As for the 9 tenders for which bids were
invited, the roads sector included the consultancy services and the detailed
designs for the revamp of Isa Town Northern Entrance (Bahrain Gas Interchange)
and phase 2 of the road revamp project in Sadad; Block 1038, Road 3813 and the
environs, Karzakan Block 1026 and constructing Roads 2631 and parking spaces.
In the sanitary sector, the tenders for
which bids were invited covered the operation and maintenance of Sitra Sewage
Treatment Plant, the implementation of a sewerage network in Dimistan Block
1019, the transfer of the sewerage line in Muharraq Sports Club in Arad Block
240, the consultancy services for the main Western sewerage line, and the
consultancy services for the design of the main sewerage line in North East
Muharraq.
As for the construction sector, bids were
invited for the quantity survey services project for the design and
implementation of a multi storey tower building in Manama.
Al Khayyat also revealed that the Ministry’s
Cost Engineering Directorate, represented by the Purchase Department, approved
189 purchase requests during February 2015 worth BD676,551, in addition to
approving 1 new request as part of the contractors pre-qualification requests
and 5 contractors and suppliers renewal requests.
