ATTEMPTING TO IMPROVE AND ENSURE SUSTAINABILITY OF THE SEWERAGE
NETWORK
WORKS MINISTRY REPLACES 2 PUMPS IN MALKIYA E2E PLANT
In an attempt to increase the efficiency of sewerage plants and minimize
defects in the sewerage network, the Sanitary Engineering Planning &
Projects Director at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities & Urban Planning
Eng. Asma Murad carried a visit to the urgent works to supply and construct
pumps for the lifting and pumping stations at various locations; which are now
progressed by 27%.
The project aims to maintain plants, increase their efficiency, ensure
sustainability, minimize defects and therefore control sewerage floods that
could occur in areas connected to these plants. Works include surveying 71
lifting and pumping stations, supply and replace some pumps and control panels,
in addition to carrying out related electromechanical works.
The BD1,297,650 project was awarded to Zohal Construction Company.
Murad inspected the E2E pumping station located in Malkiya, which
witnessed the replacement of 2 pumps, and the E8E pumping station at the
educational area in Isa Town; at which work is presently underway.
