ROADS ASSISTANT UNDERSECRETARY DISCUSSES NEEDS AT THE SOUTHERN GOVERNORATE’S 5TH CONSTITUNECY
Roads Assistant Undersecretary and Head of Municipal Councils Coordination & Follow-Up Committee Eng. Huda Fakhro met with representative of the 5th Constituency of the Southern Governorate Mohammed Al Balooshi, in the presence of a number of engineers from the Ministry and representatives to the Electricity & Water Authority.  The 5th Constituency covers Blocks 901, 903, 905, 910, 925 and 927.
At the beginning of the meeting, Fakhro welcomed Al Balooshi and commended the role extended by municipal council members in serving citizens and providing the best services to them.
The meeting highlighted a number of road related issues at the 5th Constituency, including infrastructure projects in the area, constructing new roads, revamping old roads, constructing brick pavements and implementing storm water drainage network.
Fakhro explained that work is underway to revamp Sh. Ahmed bin Salman Highway in East Riffa (Block 905) at a length of 4.95km.

As for sanitary projects at the constituency, Fakhro revealed that the Ministry is presently implementing Phase 6 of the sewerage project serving Blocks 901, 903, 905 and 909. The project is now 78% complete; with 27 out of a total of 33km sewerage lines extended. The number of real estates connected to the network amounted to 980 out of a total of 1744 real estates. Also, 56% of the houses have been connected to the network in Blocks 909, 905, 903 and 901.
