AL KHAYYAT: ‘6 TENDERS AWARDED AND BIDS INVITED FOR 2 OTHER TENDERS DURING JULY 2015’  

Works Affairs Undersecretary at the Ministry of Works, Municipality Affairs & Urban Planning Eng. Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Khayyat revealed that the Ministry awarded 6 tenders worth BD1,815,714 and invited bids for 2 tenders belonging to the roads sector worth BD20,000 during July 2015.

According to Al Khayyat, the awarded tenders covered 1 sanitary project, 4 construction projects and one service project. The awarded tenders covered the BD195,002 sewerage network project in Block 1019 in Demestan, the BD127,877 complete maintenance and painting works at Sh. Abdul Aziz bin Mohammed Secondary School for Boys, the BD247,800 complete maintenance and painting works at Jabriya Technical School for Boys in Manama and the BD114,106 complete maintenance and painting works at Saar Secondary School for Girls.

As for the 2 roads tenders for which bids were invited during July 2015, Al Khayyat stated that bids were invited for the civil works time contract tender (2015-2017) and also for the time contract tender covering paving and re-paving works (2015-2017).    


Al Khayyat also revealed that the Ministry’s Cost Engineering Directorate, represented by the Purchase Department, approved 84 purchase requests during July 2015 worth BD156,609. The technical services sector approved 4 new requests, 1 upgrade request and an addition al request as part of the contractors’ pre-qualification requests, in addition to 4 renewal requests for contractors and suppliers.
