WORKS MINISTRY COMPLETES HAMALA SEWAGE
TREATMENT PLANT PROJECT
Sanitary Engineering Planning & Projects Director at the Ministry of
Works, Municipalities & Urban Planning Eng. Asma Murad revealed that the
Ministry has completed the Hamala Sewage Treatment Plant Project, which
complements the Government’s keenness to improve infrastructure services in the
Northern Governorate and provide a healthy environment to citizens. Block 1010 to inspect progress in the
project, accompanied by a number of engineers from the Ministry.
The project comprised of removing the old 250m3/day plant and
replacing it with the new plant that has the capacity of 1100m3/day, in
addition to constructing 1.2km long conveyance line to transfer the treated
waters to the tank located in Hamala.
The project aims to provide sanitary services to residents in Hamala and
also to the housing projects located in Block 1010. Also, the project will
serve 644 residential units and will serve irrigation purposes.
The BD1,757,525 project was implemented by Zohal Excavations, while the
Ministry’s Constructions Department supervised implementation.
