AL HAWAJ: ‘41416M3 TOTAL AMOUNT OF FLOWS TO SITRA SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT DURING THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2015’
Sanitary Engineering Operation & Maintenance Director at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Eng. Ebrahim Al Hawaj revealed that the total amount of flow to Sitra Sewage Treatment Plant during the first quarter of 2015 amounted to 41416m3. The average capacity for the plant is 16500m3/day.

According to Al Hawaj, the plant contributed to improving the quality of sewerage services in Sitra, and has also alleviated pressure on Tubli Sewage Treatment Plant, in addition to reducing environment pollution through commitment to international standards adopted in this field.

‘Sitra Plant presently receives flows varying between 11,000 and 13,000 m3/day. Sewerage water id directed to the plant from 3 main pumping stations; G6 and G10 in Sitra residential area (house waters) and G1 station for the industrial area,’ explained Al Hawaj.

The treatment system used at the plant is the ESCADA remote control system, which produces high quality waters.

‘The treated waters are to be used for irrigations, forestation, and industrial and construction purposes; in accordance to the adopted environmental standards and in coordination with the concerned entities,’ added Al Hawaj.
